Energy Efficiency for Low-Income Renters NSW Planning and Environment

Client: NSW Planning and Environment

Low-income private renters face unique barriers to energy efficiency – different mindsets, behaviours, and triggers than other households. Our mixed-methods research (survey with choice experiment plus 13 group discussions) revealed how to reach this difficult-to-access segment.

The insights are driving targeted strategies for subsidised appliance programs, including optimal subsidy levels, communication approaches, and distribution channels.
